These sorts of urban narrow ways have seen a fair bit of discussion in recent years. They seem to occupy a bit of a grey area between street and path that we do not have a dedicated highway=*
tag for. Some previous discussions:
Recently, @Maro21 updated the service=alley wiki description to “A service road usually located between properties, sometimes too narrow for cars to access.” I reverted this change due the lack of prior discussion and conflicting definitions.
So, I’d like to continue the discussion from here: can a narrow way still be classified as a minor road if most cars cannot pass through it?

I’ve recently made some updates to narrow roads in Chiang Mai that were previously tagged as highway=service + service=alley, and some other misleading combinations including unsigned vehicle legal restrictions tags.
Based on the latest Wiki revisions, Mapillary, and local knowledge, I have re-classified them into more appropriate categories, such as:
Residential roads wide enough for a single motor car (at least 2 meters wide): highway=residential + lanes=1 + oneway=yes/no + surface=*
