How to mark a path which is part of several routes

I want to map some new gravelled paths in a forest complex, which are marked as separate routes in the visitor centre and with coloured posts on the ground. e.g. red route, blue route etc.

My question is how do I deal with sections which are part of several routes? e.g. red, blue and green all lead from from the car park, red leaves the blue and green at first node, green and blue separate at 3rd node etc.

I’ve currently recorded one with the name “Orange Route” and am stuck on how to do the rest appropriately.

This sound to me like you’d want to put the paths into different hiking route relations. A single OSM way can be part of different relations. In the mentionded case where “red leaves the blue and green at first node, green and blue separate at 3rd node”, you’d split the path at the first and third node and update the relations accordingly.
