How to extract your map to Garmin Dakota?

As I am informed maps of OSM can be used in the Garmin Dakota’s.
How does it work?
CREATE your map, by selection which is offered, and EXPORT on the apparatus??

The easiest option is to use this website: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/
Pick a country, or select the tiles on the map, then it will give you a link to download the map.
You need to download the file “osm_generic_gmapsupp.zip”.
Then unzip this, and copy the gmapsupp.img file into a folder named “Garmin” on the Dakota. It can be in the internal memory or on a MicroSD card, just so long as it is in a folder named Garmin.
