Podium buildings are quite popular in Panama, and I want to map them properly for 3D visualization. The best way I know to do so is to put the entire building in its silhouette and use building:part(s) to properly divide its sections and hammer it into its proper shape.
However, let’s say that I want to show that there is a multi-story garage which makes up the bottom portion of the podium building. A way that I did this before (before realizing that I was horribly wrong and now I’m scrambing to fix my mistakes) was to put the multi-story garage in first, then add the apartment building atop it with skipped levels. However, as mentioned before, this is not the proper way of doing it and I’m now properly mapping them as they should be. But in doing so, I am removing that small bit of depth to the building in itself by mapping the entire structure as being solely apartments. It’s not a significant loss, of course, but I do want to ask how do you guys map these types of buildings so that I can learn further on this topic?
