My Nuvi 57 just has 2 voice options: Samatha ‘Speaks Garmin text to voice directions’ and Michelle so I switched it from Samatha to Michelle. I also checked the selected maps and ensured that only the new opensource maps were checked. The system does now speak directions so THANK YOU! I never would have thought to change the voice… It’s not as good as the Garmin text to voice directions as it doesn’t mention street names or exit numbers but at least it does say left /right / exit ramp etc. Still beats paying Garmin $50 every few years for an updated map!
