Forums promotion

We think we need to be louder about the new forums and promote them more actively in other OSM channels.

• OSM wiki (various pages)
• Help landing page
• Help OSM
• Old forums
• OSM about page
• The welcome mat and welcome page
• And keep other other occurrences of “forum.openstreetmap.org” or “help.openstreetmap.org” in OSM sites.

I think the first place where a user gets information on various communication channels is the information iD provides on upload.

I think the first place where a user gets information on various communication channels is the information iD provides on upload.

I agree. This information is sourced from the “Community Index”, and we should make sure that the new forum is prominently featured there.

We previously discussed it both on this forum and in a governance team call, but I think it hasn’t been approached in a systematic way yet and I notice that at least some of the newly created regional categories are still missing.
