F2F Mapping - Meetup in Sydney

Hi Oceania OSM Community

I’d like to reach out mostly to the Sydney based community members to see if you are interested in joining a f2f meetup? Where we can either socially:

  1. Field map an area you interested in doing as a group or
  2. Desktop map together in a central location, for example Parramatta. With this option we could also do a hybrid option where other community mappers out of state can join us on a call.
    Was thinking of doing this meetup during the week 9-13th or 15th June, either during the day (for option 1 or 2) or evening (for option 2). Open to suggestions to have it for a hour, or half a day etc.

Looking forward to your thoughts on this and let me know your interests by :+1: this post and I can organise our next steps .

Hi Natasha963, I’m interested, although only available for evening meetups on those dates, so option 2.

Thanks to those who already shared some feedback about joining a social mapping event in Sydney. I’ve set up a calendar invite :spiral_calendar: .

It’s open to come at any time during this timing.

Hi Sydney Community, the venue for our social f2f mapping event next week has been booked. I’ve posted the address on the calendar invite here: Social Mapping Event in Parramatta | OpenStreetMap Calendar
With this booking there is a slight shift in the starting time. We’ll be starting from 5pm to 7pm.

P.S. will try in our next event to do a hybrid option for more to be able to join in.

Hi Sydney Community

Thanks to those who could make it to our event this week. Was good to catchup f2f and do some editing together. Hope we can set up another one soon later in the year.

We made a good start on a few challenges. The challenges are still open so if anyone else would like to help us get them closer to being finished, here are the details:
