Exporting specific nodes

Hi!
Is there any way to export only specific nodes of a special region? For example to export all nodes in Germany (or a rectangle around Germany) with the tag amenity=school.

alteratively, you can dowlnload an extract of the original OSM data for a certain region from geofabrik.de or cloudmade.com and apply a filtering via http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osmfilter or Osmosis.
