Excited to Contribute to OpenStreetMap for GSOC 2025!

Hi everyone,

I’m Divyanshu Agarwal, a Software Engineer and Competitive Programmer interested in contributing to OpenStreetMap through Google Summer of Code 2025. I’m particularly excited about projects related to Nominatim and search improvements.

About Me:

:small_blue_diamond: Tech Stack: Java (Spring Boot), Python, SQL (PostgreSQL/PostGIS), Angular, React
:small_blue_diamond: OSM & Mapping Experience: Familiar with OSM tagging and data structures
:small_blue_diamond: Projects:

  • Track Transactions with Spring Boot – Built a banking app with 10+ API endpoints and improved UI load time by 30%
  • A Pathfinding Visualizer* – Developed an interactive web tool to visualize pathfinding algorithms
    :small_blue_diamond: Competitive Programming:
  • Knight on Leetcode (Rating: 1930, Top 3%)
  • Specialist at Codeforces

I’m particularly interested in Nominatim - Category Search Using ID Presets under @lonvia, where I can apply my backend skills and database expertise to enhance search functionalities.

Looking forward to learning, contributing, and collaborating with the community! If you have any advice or guidance on getting started, I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks!
