Error when converting osm to shapefile

I export the osm file,
try to import osm from ArcCatalogue OpenStreetMap Toolbox,
Load OSM file
Result: Error
Object Reference not set to an instance of an object

any clues?

What OSM file are you talking about?

map.osm (file extension)

Try to inspect that osm file with a text editor.

and:
can you load that osm file into JOSM editor?

So you try to import raw OSM data that you have downloaded from openstreetmap.org into “ArcCatalogue OpenStreetMap Toolbox”?

Are you able to import any other OSM data from a different area in that software?
