I added the passage ‘Sitzbänke als Teil einer Initiative’ to the wiki page DE:Tag:amenity=bench but when trying to upload I get the error message:
No idea what that means. Anyone who could help?
This appears to be the “No stash found for” error message, which according to this comment appears if you left your editor open for more than 24 hours. Normally when you edit with the more basic wikitext editor, you’d end up with an error about a missing session token but you can keep saving if you’re sure you aren’t overwriting anything newer. With the visual editor, you could review your changes from the save dialog, take note of those changes, hard-refresh the page, and redo the changes.

Thanks a lot. Due to your fast reply I did not have to redo the whole thing from the scratch. A hard refresh of the page did not work but when I closed all the wiki tabs I used parallel and then started again I was able to just paste the changes copied before and then do the save.
Indeed I have not used the visual editor before, just wanted to give it a try because it’s more comfortable and bang: error message be dey! although I did not have the editor opened for more than 1 hour. I’ll keep this in my mind for further wiki updates!

I should note that the 24-hour comment is rather old and might be specific to Wikimedia’s wiki server. With the wikitext editor, I’ve sometimes noticed stale session token errors appearing at much shorter intervals, but it’s so random that I’ve never been able to investigate further.
Never experienced the problem with the basic editor although having much longer sessions before. Howsoever the issue is not a problem as long as you know how to deal with it.
