download/extract public transport stations

Hey,

I’d like to extract all public Transport stations in a City.
Therefor I tried to download teh OSM Data via the Plugin in QGIS. But through this I’m getting al OSM Date in the City and I’m not able to erase all other Points in my shape automaticly.
Is there an easyer way to get only the public transport stations (or for other Projects e.g. all bakery Shops etc.)?

You can try to get familiar with filtering of raw OSM data before importing them into QGIS or other programs.

Be sure to have read http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Elements

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Planet.osm for data downloading and

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osmfilter for filtering.

As an alternative, you can try to use the famous Overpass turbo http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Overpass_turbo as a front-end for the Overpass-API.

Be sure what OSM elements you want to filter / download for dealing with public transport data from OSM.
