Does OSM work with GeoDirectory plugins installed on WordPress?

Hello,

I am new to discovering OSM.
I am creating a community directory in my surf village. It is called Nosara, Costa Rica.
I am using WP GeoDirectory plugins on a WordPress server space.
I have configured a google maps API.

OSM maps are much better. I want to use them instead.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use OSM with GeoDirectory?

wpgeodirectory.com is the company.

I have opened a ticket with them as well. I prefer more than one opinion. This is why I am posting.

Pura Vida,

Hi,

there is an OSM based geolocator called Nominatim. You may search for a WP solution using Nominatim too.

I think compared to the functionality of wpgeodirectory.com (location directory, listings, like Yelp or TripAdvisor) uMap is a better choice.

You can create your own map and show locations of your community drectory. Therefor it is also important to know, that a lot of POIs are already added to OSM. So you only have to make them visible on your map. For what is possible see openpoimap.org.

There is also an OSM plugin for Wordpress. Maybe this helps to add your map to your website.

There is also a dedicated OpenStreetMap plugin for Wordpress: http://wp-osm-plugin.hanblog.net/

I haven’t tried it myself though
