Hello. My first post here. I want to map a planned metro line in Stockholm, and have found publicly available maps of the planned alignment. They do however say (translated): “This document and the information contained herein are the property of Region Stockholm and may not be used, disclosed to unauthorized parties, or modified without the written consent of Region Stockholm.“
Does “used“ mean I cant use this map as an overlay to trace from?
That’s up to you to decide if it is worth your time. Keep in mind that what you really need them to do is significantly modify the wording of that “licensing” statement so that OSM and other parties don’t need written consent to use and disclose. OSM can’t keep a filing cabinet full of written consents from data sources - that becomes unmanageable.
Planned is ‘proposed’ in OSM, a discussion last week with a DWG member who reverted a big ‘proposed’ deletion (the fantasy suspended bridge plan at the narrowest point over the Messina straight and feeder ways costing many billions). The comment was it’s up to the country community to allow or disallow mapping these proposals. Even with permission, is the Swedish community OK with mapping such items?
Thanks! I didn’t find it, but I think I’ll contact them. After all, I just want to trace the approximate locations of the tracks, not share the whole document.
I am not a (real) member of the Swedish community, but I map quite a bit there and follow the discussions. There were some lines that were only planned by now added in Gothenburg (Göteborg) a while ago which led to reverts and discussions in the changesets.
and probably some more.
So personally I would only take the energy to get the permission and do the work of adding them when it is really decided that they will be build in that way.
