It appears that with a number of trust level customisations like this, I think this forum needs their own Trust Levels chart page thing, and it should probably be linked from the FAQ page too.

I agree. I guess it’s not top priority for the admins, but since more people are joining Discourse nowadays with the on-going migration, a guide for such thing as “unlockables” per TL, is needed.
Also, the FAQ needs to be transformed into actual FAQ page and not just Guidelines page 
New user’s guide is now a link on the sidebar, there trust levels are explained.
