Cyclemap layer contouring data error - Shetland. how to fix?

Its looking pretty lumpy on this layer compared to the other layers. plus someo f hte rivers are flowing over ridges. It’s beyond my ability to fix. Any ideas who could?

That layer is provided by a third party, Thunderforest.com. You would have to contact the layer provider about any problems with the OpenCycleMap layer.

To expand on that in case it’s not clear: the terrain/elevation/hillshading is not from OSM data. The apparently Himalayan landscape must come from some other source that has been combined with OSM. So as mentioned, it would need to be fixed by the map provider.

Thanks very much. I’ve contacted them and will see what happens…

I’ve heard back from thunderforest, and they’ve said
"The problems with Shetland are a known issue, and I believe the underlying cause is related to the way that the height data was original collected. Apparently boggy ground, particularly at high latitudes, can confuse the space-based radar systems that originally measured these heights.

There are newer elevation data sources available, and it’s on our list to investigate this sources and process them into the format that we need. Unfortunately I can’t commit to a timescale for when this problem will be fixed, and I can appreciate that it’s a bit of a distraction in Shetland in the meantime."
