How can I get the Map to find my current location? Anytime I choose the “Current Location” button at least it thinks I’m within several miles of where I actually am. How can I make this more accurate? I am doing this from my computer, not my phone. Thanks in advance! Price
Hi. The map on this website isn’t meant for navigation. Its main purpose is as an aid to mappers. Other more full-featured apps can add extra functionality such as this, if their developers wish.
However, your computer doesn’t have a GPS chip, or similar means of pinpointing location. The best a webpage can do is a very rough estimate, based only on your computer’s IP address.
On the phone, of course (virtually all of which have built-in GPS receivers), you can get a rather precise location.
