Correct Too Short Highways in Indonesia

Dear OSM Community Indonesia,
I hope you’re doing well!

I’m excited to share a new MapRoulette Challenge for Indonesia that’s both interesting and logical. We’ve found some highways on the map that are too short and need fixing where they are incorrect. In this challenge, you can help by correcting these issues.

Project Link: Indonesia - Advanced Map Editing: Correct Too Short Highways

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Merge Ways: If two short highways should actually be one, merge them (select multiple ways with “Shift” and click “C”).

  2. Merge Nodes: If there are two nodes that should be a single point, merge them (select multiple nodes with “Shift” and click “C”).

  3. Adjust Highways: If the short highway is part of a longer one, adjust the nodes to make it the correct length.

  4. Remove Redundant Nodes: If the short highway isn’t needed, remove any extra nodes to simplify the map.

  5. Reconnect Ways: After making your edits, ensure the highways are correctly connected.

If you have any questions or want to discuss the challenge, feel free to reach out. More details can be found on the Indonesia GitHub page.

Let’s work together to keep improving our OSM map! Thank you for being part of this awesome project.

Warm regards,

Kiran from TomTom
