(English below because I don’t know whether this has worldwide relevance or just matters for Germany)
man_made=composting_plant
In the wiki, man_made=composting_plant
is defined as valid tag for a composting plant. However, it is only found a few hundred times in the OSM database. To implement a new preset in iD for this tag, we have to make sure this tag is generally accepted by the community.

Tag:man_made=composting_plant - OpenStreetMap Wiki page is quite confusing as it fails to define or explain what “composting plant” is
I guess it is place where compost is being made from compostable waste, at industrial scale (excludes small compost piles in gardens)?
But proper wiki page that at least mentions meaning of tag is needed before it gets into iD presets.

The discussion was started when I stumbled upon a “Kompostierungsanlage” which was initially tagged as landuse=landfill
(wrong!).
In my first changeset, I had changed the tagging to a recycling centre for green waste. Then, another user (@hNdrX) informed me about the wiki page for man_made=composting_plant
.
Now having knowledge of that tag, I did a follow-up changeset, and then I created a new issue on the id-tagging-schema repository because I thought “What if composting plants are constantly being mistagged as something else because iD lacks a preset for them?” – and now we’re here.
And I think to progress its wiki page should describe the object type, not compost itself.

I’ve typically seen these referred to as “commercial composting” - a straw, for example, might say “Commercially Compostable” to indicate that you can put it in the compost bin, but shouldn’t put it in your own pile in the garden.
