Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF (COG) and STAC resources from your countries

Would be great if everyone that knows or could check with their country if a STAC(SpatioTemporal Asset Catalogs) api for orthophotos etc is provided by their Geo authority. A website which tries to gather togheter these is STAC Index. It is an easy form you can fill out yourself!

I added two STAC catlogs Orthophoto and height data over Sweden, Lantmäteriets katalog för nedladdning av ortofoton (lantmateriet-stac-bild) - STAC Index which we can´t use (yet) due to licensing issues in OSM but it is a start to map how much data is in STAC resources out there in the world.

And maybe someday we could get support in JOSM or any other editor for Cloud Optimized GeoTIF´s if we know data is provided free of charge and free of hosting GeoServer deployments. #2372 (Add GeoTIFF support) – JOSM

That looks great! What is the permissions to use that particular instance? Who is hosting it?

So if I would run TiTiler locally on my machine( or using that AWS you sent) I could expose a WMTS endpoint and then use this in JOSM and pipe through authentication details, bounding box and which map I want from the collection from the JOSM request to TiTiler which then contacts the STAC api to retrive the data?
