I worked using Safari on my MacBook Pro fixing warnings and Issues in OSM. Once I decided to save, I couldn’t save. I still have OSM open and running in Safari. Unless adding another feature of Norton caused this, what do I need to do to be able to upload my changes from the Morgantown, WV Metro Area? I have the screenshot to hopefully help. I know how to map but not how to fix this issue.
This looks like a potential issue with the iD editor generating invalid data when it’s trying to send your changes to the OSM upload API. The upload request is rejected by the OSM server due to it having the wrong format.
You can file a bug report here: https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues, make sure to include the full text of the error message that’s displayed and if possible how to reproduce it.
You can also try downloading the change file for your edits and importing them into another editor (e.g. JOSM).
I only use the ID editor and don’t have a different editor. I will try filing the bug report with the full text of the error message though. I’ve added changes since.
@Woazboat , besides discarding my edits until I can actually save, am I basicly unable to eedit in OSM and be able to save? I tried changing the summary of my changes and received the same basic error message.
Could you add the complete text of the error message to the thread? Best as text, but a screenshot would be OK too.
Then, as has already been suggested save your changes to a file, worst case somebody else can upload them for you.
