Met with the co-leads today, meeting notes in the OSM Wiki: Improving the affiliation scheme of the OSMF - OpenStreetMap Wiki

next volunteers meetup ~ Dec 14 (osmcal here)

follow up @Minha_Mahroof @Mouonnibe @Siaosi_Lutui can you let us know which team you plan to join? thanks!

I added in the main post about time commitment and timeline (open-ended) which were frequently asked. Hope it’s clearer now

Hello all! Earlier, the co-leads met to share updates, challenges and support needed. notes here.

Key updates:

Research Team:

Suggested next steps:

  • summarize the table, define some of the terminologies (eg. what is a public recognition?)
  • discuss with co-leads and team about next steps, and the possibility to recruit another co-lead

Facilitation team

  • no updates since co-leads were attending SotM Asia

Suggested next steps:

  • prepare discussion sessions and start by listing target groups and individuals (Local chapters, informal groups/unregistered orgs, non-geographical communities/org or thematic groups), build an agenda, coordinate schedule (date/time/venue room)
  • hopefully we can have these sessions by January 2025

Others

  • Cristoffs and Eugene from LCCWG joined as LCCWG liaison to the subcommittee
  • we also discussed about informal groups using OSM trademarks/logo and this can be added to the research and consulted with LWG
  • Arnalie’s commitment will be until end of Jan 2025, and will prioritize SotM2025 organizing

Next meeting / Open to all:

See you and have a good rest of your week!

Hello all! Sharing summary and highlights of our last Volunteers meet for this year and year-end meetup. notes here

During the session, we shared our delightful memories this year, wishes for the OSM community next year, key updates and next steps. I shared a summary in my LinkedIn post: Arnalie Vicario on LinkedIn: #osm #osm

We also had a fun Menti game by @Brazil_Singh :clap:t3:

Next steps:
:woman_technologist:t2: Research team: Continue researching and analyzing affiliation scheme of open communities
:microphone: Facilitation team: they shared a draft agenda and we’ll conduct consultation sessions next year

For now, let’s enjoy the season break (if you are celebrating) with our loved ones and/or low times until the end of the year. Happy holidays and new years! See you next year! :tada:
