Hi, I was contributing to a project, where the task was to map buildings and roads in Malawi. The east africa tagging guidlines OSM wiki page gives a good description of what tag one should use to describe a route. However, some of these tags are dependent upon the category of settlement that a route links. e.g. a route linking villages or cities. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/East_Africa_Tagging_Guidelines

What constitues (east) african settlements?
