Adding the type of tree (species, genus)

I want to tag the type of a tree called in latin Ulmus laevis. Should i put it in the species tag? Or do i need to split the first part to genus tag?

Yes, use both. The “laevis” bit is technically called the specific epithet, but on it’s own does not mean anything, a correct species name is formed as Genus + “specific epithet” (and more technically also references to the original author and/or author of that particular combination - largely because one combination may have been used to refer to different things at different times by different authors).

If you know only the genus, use genus = Ulmus. But if you know the species, remove the genus tag and add species = Ulmus laevis.
