How do you add steps to a footpath. I can create a point but I cannot find Feature Type of steps or stairs
Split the way between two points at the top and bottom of the steps then tag the way between those as something like highway=steps.
The steps tag can’t be applied to a node/point it has to be a way.
The exact method to do that will depend on the editor you’re using.

Steps can be an area too area:highway=steps which you’d want to do when it’s wide and/or long such as the Spanish steps, BUT, one still has to map a line across for routing purposes.
