Hi all, heads up that HOT is activating (through the Open Mapping Hub - Asia Pacific) to the earthquakes in Afghanistan that happened on 07 October.
First move was to launch a MapSwipe campaign to identify where there people living in the affected area. This was completed yesterday by 194 MapSwipe users. You can find the data here.
The resulting settlement layer has now been used to inform a HOT Tasking Manager project, which can be found here: HOT Tasking Manager
There is a wiki page up for the activation, which can be found here: 2023 Afghanistan Earthquake - OpenStreetMap Wiki
Posting this here to encourage mappers / contributors to support the response if you have some time you can give! Also, please consider this the opening of the organised editing consultation.
