There are 4 language versions of the 3D roof shape modelling wiki. In the English it says the roof type of subject is gabled_height_moved with 2.1K use per TagInfo and the German which titles the same roof shape as gabled_irregular with ‘only’ 65 deployments.
The roof shape is quite popular here (Italy) most often the lower offset part to the shady side, down know why this design, maybe improved protection again rain/snow melt seeping through.
The English wiki has a note that it’s not maintained and the German is better.
Yet, the German had a last edit in 2019 and the former half dozen more, last in 2023.
Snip English:
Snip German:
The other 2 language versions have no shape name for this type.
When then going over to the 4D modelling wiki of which there are many language versions, the English has no name and the German still calls it gabled_irregular… as said, just 65 use cases.
thx
PS, my AI friend came up with this explanation for the 2… not the exactly same thing, and from the wording these have the two sides still meet at the top… see these on occasion here too.
The followup question reply
So, going by this, the German title with the diagram is incorrect and for now will stick to the tagging in my JOSM custom preset… gabled_height_moved.
If there are experts here who differ, don’t hesitate.
