Zooming in too quickly takes me to other places

When I’ve been mapping (in NC), zooming in too quickly sometimes causes it to take me to other places (most often southwestern Alaska, though I’ve been taken to British Columbia, Wyoming, and Montana too.) Does this ever happen to any of you?

No (not on the OSM website nor in P2, JOSM or iD). Where are you seeing this happening and how are you zooming in?

I also get this editing in the UK (and editing the UK!).
It sometimes drops me exactly south of my point by hundreds to thousands of miles, mostly to a part of France or Spain.
