Why editing OpenStreetMap is recently so laggy?

This started a few days ago. I was doing some editions in OpenStreetMap (using the iD online editor), all was okay, but after some time the rendering turned laggy, in the most of the time the rendering of objects is slow (only sometimes its normal, but this lasts for a moment, then it turns slow again), and this difficult a lot editing the map (note: THIS IS NOT because load a lot of elements, even in areas with few things, the render is VERY SLOW). This happens when I edit (move/add/delete) nodes of the objects (areas or ways, or only points) I have noticed this problems also in OpenGeofiction (based in the same system as OSM).
I don’t know if this problem it’s mine or there are other people who have the same problem (although it seems not, no one has reported this problem, as far as I know).

Please help me, I can’t edit normally with this problem.

What browser are you using?

In this last week or two I’ve seen a few comments about FireFox doing strange things, both here with regard to OSM, & also on other, non-mapping, forums?

When you are using iD and you feel that editing is slow then it is the browser (or iD itself), not OSM.

The way it works that you start iD, it retrieves data from OSM, then everything stays in the browser until you save, and while you are editing OSM (database) is not touched at all.

Since iD is an editor running in your browser it can have bugs as any program, which may cause slowdown, or your browser can cause slowdown as well (and there may be millions of reasons for a browser to be slow, unfortunately). Try to restart browser, try different browsers, and if the problem persists it’s an iD problem, if not then browser problem.

If loading the data or saving the data is slow then it (possibly) is an OSM problem.

I know, It probably won’t answer your problem, but I was wondering which photo overlay you used.

It works fine for me. Perhaps it is your computer swapping.
