The Japanese translation of uMap is only partly filled in. On a /ja/ map page you get Japanese and English side by side inside the same dialog — see this map, where the close button’s aria-label and the email field’s placeholder come through in Japanese, while “Here is your secret link to edit the map”, “Copy link” and “Send me the link” are still English. The uMap developers checked and confirmed this is a gap in the catalog rather than a code problem (umap issue #3457), so it’s something a translator can fix rather than something needing a patch.
I’d like to fix it, but I can’t get in. Ten days ago I requested to join the Japanese language of the uMap team on Transifex, under the openstreetmap organization (my username there is rktrmnb). The request is still pending, and a message to the Japanese coordinator hasn’t been answered. Without membership the translation editor isn’t reachable at all — the link the maintainers pointed me to returns Not Found.
Does anyone know who currently handles language team requests for the openstreetmap organization on Transifex? If someone here has that access, I’d be grateful for an approval. And if this is the wrong place to ask, I’m happy to be pointed elsewhere.
