When I try to edit, I get sent to Antarctica :)

Hi,

If I am in Dublin: OpenStreetMap (or several other locations I’ve tried) and I press ‘Edit’ it brings me to a black screen.

If I move the map, even by the tiniest amount, it tells me that I am at OpenStreetMap just off the coast Antarctica.

Hi, works fine for me. (Browser: Firefox)

Yeah the new iD 2.39 has a typo in it from last September that renders it inoperative. Either replace the ech method with each to make it work on your end, use the working development version at https://ideditor.netlify.app/ or switch to another editor while were waiting for the a to get inserted over at npm.

is it already reported at GitHub · Where software is built ? (or fixed there?)

EDIT: yes, see fix typo · openstreetmap/iD@0241c76 · GitHub

I had the same problem an hour ago.
For me, deleting all cookies and website data (for openstreetmap.org) in the browser and then re-log-in to OSM fixed the problem.

next step was done: update iD to v2.39.2 by tyrasd · Pull Request #6918 · openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website · GitHub

These are the steps I took.

I turned off the computer.

I got something to eat.

I brushed my teeth.

I went to bed.

I got up the next day and turned on the computer.

I went to edit something and it worked OK.

I did notice that some of the iD updates were visible before (e.g. animation for manipulating polygons), but more were visible after (e.g. longer “recent tags I’ve used” list).
