Given the space available, I think that the developers of these changes have done a really good job of showing which search result corresponds to which pin on the map.
The points are also highlighted on hover.. If you select the off-screen one the viewport moves, and if you go back in the browser “back” works too.
The grey bit overlaying the colored boxes is the slider to scroll the window, for whatever reason in your browser it is displayed on top instead of on the side.
Well In the original search link I posted you will see there is only one marker. Without a mouseover explaining such an advanced feature, new users will not necessarily figure it out.
I guess it’s either „zoom to most relevant result“ or „zoom to show all results“, and you can’t have both at the same time.
For a user (and in my opinion) it’s probably best if the zoom shows the most relevant result.
Having color-coded results at least helps to show that there might be more and to distinguish them after manually zooming out.
