As SOTM26 is drawing closer and I like to have transportation and accommodation fixed a bit before time I turn to you.
It is the first time I seriously consider attending and thus I am not really sure as where to look for people who might be interested in sharing maybe a ride or a hotel room.
The talk page of the SOTM26 wiki is still empty, the website doesn’t say too much yet so I decided to start this thread.
Maybe this turns into a place to find each other. If that happens I’ll change the title to something more fitting.
Not sure about travel buddies, but I basically look to the local community and see if anyone is travelling on the same Eurostar. I have met other mappers in the waiting area at St Pancras in the past. I am on a later Eurostar than I would normally pick as travel is on a Thursday so I want to avoid peak fares getting to London.
Not sure what you mean by share a ride as in Paris I see transport as Metro amd RER.
I have booked a hotel near the venue, which is a stort walk from the RER station. My plan is to get a couple of RER trains to the hotel.
Once you are there there will be messages floating around on variuos media, such as matrix, saying where people are so you can go and join them.
