I would like to add some cameras that are used for enforcing HOV lanes, but its not clear to me what feature this is. I’ve looked through the wiki, and there isn’t any guidance. I’ve done some internet searches, and AI responses say I should use “Speed camera”, but that doesn’t seem right to me.
In any case, I understand that after I create the node, that I need to add an enforcement relation (similar to normal speed cameras).
The enforcement relation page on the wiki does list access as a possible value which I supposed could be interpreted loosely to apply to *:lanes tags.
I might be tempted to just use enforcement=hov:lanes or whatever tag is actually being used on the way and document that in the wiki. I don’t know if the relevant way should get the section role, it mentions that being for average speed cameras but then doesn’t use any way with role section in the examples.
I think I prefer man_made=surveillance, because the fact that it’s used for access enforcement is encoded in the corresponding enforcement relation.
We could also reuse enforcement=access and then apply the usual access tagging (with :lanes and whatnot) to encode which access is actually enforced with the device. This would be a bit more extensible if access control gets more complicated; not sure how necessary that really is.
