Wetland=peat_bog vs. wetland=bog

I have seen this new wetland=peat_bog appear in the taggning and I have asked the users why this should be better than wetland=bog

I did not have any answers from the users. But what I found my self is, the peat_bog is availble in the ID-editor.

There are about 500 taged objects with this value but what would be the difference to use wetland=bog ?

It seems to me that the ID-editor just use the tag-info that has been used and serve these values for the user who can just choose it from the list.
