This looks like yet another group of bad data… I fixed multiple of those, but there is enough of them that I cannot fix all myself.
If anyone would be interested in fixing these or more and would want them in a different format (MR challenge?) then let me know and I can share such data.
I also have bunch of other similar cases like public_transport=stop_position monorail=yes not on monorails or highway=motorway_junction on railway=rail or suspiciously minor roads
(as usual: if fix is not clear better to not make an edit at all, also in many cases node tags would need to be moved to way rather than just blanking tags on nodes)
In most (all?) cases, isn’t this just a matter of moving all the tags from the node to the waterway=dam way it is a member of?
I can help with that, but given that this isn’t my area of expertise and that you’re not proposing an automated edit, I’d like to know what I should be watching for when doing this manually so this doesn’t just turn into a more labor-intensive equivalent of an automated edit…
for example in some cases nodes had names that were coming from low quality import and needed to be discarded
sometimes other changes were also clearly needed
if anyone looks for bot edit idea I have a long list of much better ideas (see say barrier=wall wall=wall and barrier=retaining_wall wall=retaining_wall and crop=grape grape_variety=grape and crop=grape grape_variety=Grape and man_made=manhole manhole=yes and landuse=vineyard grape_variety=grape and landuse=vineyard grape_variety=Grape for start)
Given that that would only result in moving a bad tag, not introducing a bad tag, I don’t see that on its own as sufficient reason not to automate this.
If it’s just a matter of not wanting to go through the effort of automating this though then I can understand that. I’ll try not to copy over any obviously bad tags when editing…
I have revised dams in Québec where structures are important enough to interpret from Imagery. Changeset 189828156 edit a weir with a fish pass on the side, probably for salmons. In Changeset 189831828, I moved the name to the way but more revisions would be necessary using available documentation to better represent these sometimes complex structures.
