I only just noticed that this has gained international attention. This whole debacle is essentially fallout from Foot=no op autowegen on the Dutch forum.
@multimodaal seems to be taking a stance that access tags for specific vehicles should be tagged explicitly as often as possible, while everyone else in the conversation seems to be of the opinion that it’s perfectly fine to assume certain tags like foot=no and bicycle=no on motorroads, and we can safely remove those tags in these cases.
This disagreement has led to multimodaal doing some wiki-fiddling, and the rest as they say is history.
