Wanted to share this micromapping project I’ve been doing for a while

I got a long way to go, but I’ve attempted to map every element possible.

I’ve added just about everything I can think of, even down to every manhole. I’m now attempting to complete indoor mapping and eventually adding all indoor POI.

Here is a link to the campus on OSM:

Looks great! Thanks for sharing.

One suggestion: You might want to have look at the wiki guidance on the names vs descriptions and then consider whether any adjustments to the feature names in this area would be appropriate.

Keep up the good work!

Where are the restaurants for all those outdoor_seating nodes?
Maybe leisure=picnic_table would fit better.

Those ones were regular tables and didn’t quite fit the picnic table as OSM was describing it

I think amenity=table could be a good solution for these kind of non-picnic-specific tables

I just changed them to amenity=table. Thank you for that advice!

I was perusing the OSM article for outdoor_seating and noticed that there were uses outside of just cafes and restaurants for outdoor seating.

I agree that amenity=table works much better than what I was using it for, but shouldn’t there be at least 1 outdoor_seating node in the different areas so that it will at least render on map apps? I would think it would be useful information for users so they know seating areas actually exist in the real world from the map itself.
