For completeness, 2% of indoor=wall already have area=yes, so this is really just a “vote” about some wiki pages (which I’d suggest should follow what is in OSM data anyway).
“Data consumers should deal with the data in OSM not in the wiki, so this should not affect them”.

That number is not really significant, because this proposal is not just about adding area=yes to indoor=wall, but about complementing indoor=room (and its implicit wall) with indoor=wall and area=yes. How often this is actually the case already is not easy to figure out. It can only be a maximum of 0.66 % (1521 area walls / 231.462 rooms) assuming one wall per room (usually there are more than one). The actual percentage is certainly much lower, because currently, only free-standing walls should be tagged with indoor=wall - the use together with indoor=room is discouraged.
