Voting has started for the proposal “Aerodrome Classification”.

I’d like to thank all those who gave their input in the RFC. The proposal changed substantially since then.

You propose to (re?)define the aerodrome tag but the mostly used value (“international”) is not mentioned in your proposal: aerodrome | Keys | OpenStreetMap Taginfo

should these all be retagged?

The aeroway=aerodrome tag stays the same. The proposal formalizes the use of the aerodrome=* tag.

And yes, all current uses of aerodrome=* and aerodrome:type=* become obsolete.

aerodrome:type=international for example would become aerodrome=airport , port_of_entry=yes.
