On the NSI, Italian telecom operator shops (Vodafone, TIM, Windtre and Iliad) are currently tagged as shop=mobile_phone. However, these shops mainly focus on services such as Internet contracts, IPTV, streaming services, SIM cards, and mobile/Internet plans. While they do sell some phones, that’s minimal compared to their main purpose.
This is different from a shop=mobile_phone, and matches the description of shop=telecommunication perfectly.
Does the Italian community agree that I update Vodafone, TIM, Windtre and Iliad shops from shop=mobile_phone to shop=telecommunication on the NSI, which can then be updated on OSM?
By the way, some of these and other Italian telecommunication companies (like WindTre and Fastweb, but also Poste Italiane, the national postal service) are now selling also insurance , home energy supply contracts and other connected devices, but I’m not sure if and how to represent it in OSM (maybe insurance=yes?)
I wouldn’t tag them automatically using NSI, since I don’t think that in every WindTre point you can activate an insurance policy (I think it depends on their franchise status).
P.S: it seems Fastweb and Vodafone are in the process of merging after Swisscom’s acquisition. They will become Fastweb + Vodafone. Both stores are unchanged for now, and probably not for a few months (or years). I’ll update them accordingly when the stores actually rebrand.
