In principle, I think any kind of route relation could benefit from an optional attribute indicating the membership criteria – the editorial scope, as opposed to the geographic scope. If we had had such a key way back when, I’m not sure the PTv2 schema would’ve needed to come up with a separate route_master type that effectively serves as a route superrelation of various kinds.
