New here - a ton of information… There is very little data in the area that I live (Fountain, CO) for cycling, but I bike all over the place here and I collect GPX data with a Garmin 1000 - is there a simple process for uploading GPX files form rides to the database?
Yes, if you go to http://www.openstreetmap.org/traces there’s an “Upload a trace” button. You’ll need to login to the site (or sign up if you’re not signed up already) before you can upload.
But keep in mind that an uploaded GPX file does not mean that a new path will be added to the database.
Someone has to manually trace the path in an editor and give it the necessary tags.
