In StreetComplete lautet eine Fragestellung (neuerdings?) zusätzlich „Hat diese Straße Fahrbahnmarkierungen?“ statt nur „Wie viele Spuren hat diese Straße“. Da sich erste die Frage aber auf lane_markings=yes/no bezieht, wäre meiner Meinung nach gleich die Frage nach Fahrspurmarkierungen sinnvoller, da mancher Nutzer möglicherweise mit „ja“ antwortet, im Glauben, die Fahrbahnbegrenzungsmarkierung sei gemeint. Das war vor einiger Zeit irgendwie weniger missverständlich formuliert.

If the problem is solely in German translation of those strings, people can help by updating the StreetComplete translations. However, given that StreetComplete maintainer @westnordost speaks German, I would assume those should be clear. (pinging him so he can better assess the apparent UX confusion)

Yes, the latter was incorrectly autotranslated from “Fahrbahnbegrenzungsmarkierung”, for which the literal translation is more like “carriageway boundary marking”.

The OSM wiki example image the for lane_markings=no still has a “Fahrbahnbegrenzungsmarkierung” on each side (the white lines at the edge of the road), but no lane markings.

Yes, the quest quest_lane_markings_title in English in latest version in “Does this road have lane markings?” and in German is “Hat diese Straße Fahrbahnmarkierungen?”.
