Unfeasibly long fords

I recently found somewhere where I’d accidentally turned a section of towpath into a ford, after adding a ford and bridge at one end. A subsequent check finds that it’s not just me doing this - those are all the alleged fords more than 1000m in length. It’s pretty unlikely that this road is all ford and it looks silly on maps that show long fords as such.

These do need a bit of common sense applying before any editing (e.g. “does it go over the top of a hill? Unlikely to all be a long ford”). There are some genuine quite long fords, but many of what OSM has are just mistaggings.

Well Violets Lane is nearly 1000m but I agree it’s an unusual case.

Surprised how many of these there are. Many others clear blunders can be spotted by reducing to 10m.
