i have been trying to add an external link to a wiki page, which requires solving a captcha. however, i keep getting stuck at the captcha screen. here’s an example of the issue i am facing:

Do you have an option of finding a different way to connect to the internet (mobile phone, different wifi, etc.). People have found in the past that that can work.
There have been reports of this happening either in the visual editor mode or the visual editor’s code editing mode (as opposed to the traditional code editor). I don’t think it depends on using it on a mobile or desktop device.
Try clicking the 
icon in the toolbar, next to the Save button, choosing Code Editing from the menu, then saving again. If that doesn’t work, go to your editing preferences and uncheck “Enable the visual editor” and “ Use the wikitext mode inside the visual editor, instead of a different wikitext editor”. Unfortunately, this would force you to edit wikitext temporarily until you’re able to save links without going through a CAPTCHA.

Interesting, I think that might be the reverse of how it was previously. MediaWiki keeping us on our toes as usual…
