Umap: sort items into layer

Hi, how can I sort the items into layers in UMAP?

A new item is added to the default layer.
The items property “layer” can be edited and changed to a different or new layer

I would like to extend the question:
How can I move multiple items to another layer by the UI?
(I could export the map, edit the JSON and import.)
