Tree leaves and needles

Hello,

EDIT: Skip this message (and some of moderation’s following it) as it is not related to the topic. Sorry for the trouble.

I know it’s bad not to have read the whole topic but I wanted to find people concerned about tree leaves.

I’m using the Android application StreetComplete and having quite a lot of fun. But I’m regularly asked for trees leaves’ type (I’m not sure this is quite the subject here, hence the topic’s title).

However, there’s a lot of cypress (“zypresse” in German and “cyprès” in French) in the Mediterranean area where I live and I couldn’t find whether they are leaves or spikes (not sure for the technical words which in French are “feuilles” et “aiguilles”).

I’ve started to write notes on the map but realized that it will annoy moderators… So I’ve headed to the help section where I couldn’t find an answer, and then here where a similar subject has been left for about 10 years now…

I wish someone will be able to answer, or I’ll post a new subject separately… EDIT: solved over here: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/how-to-tag-cypress-leaves-leaves-or-needles/131128/2

Thanx for your support everybody.

Yes, please start a new thread instead of necrobumping.

necrobumping? Can you explain in more detail why creating a new post is better than continuing an existing one?

because this one is about a different topic

Thread is about migrating wood= tagging to some other tagging.

This post is how to tag some specific tree.

This makes it confusing - and anyone who would read old thread would just waste time.

new thread with photo of one would be a good idea

you can also ask local community (if it exists)

opening few of them may be a good way to reach local community (if they bother to review them) but opening large pile of them likely is not a great idea
