Hello, I come from Germany near the Netherlands and often drive on the Groningen ring road and have experienced the many years of roadworks. On Dutch Internet sites I often read in this context “Aanpak”. Worldwide in the complete OpenStreetMap, the term is only used once: “Aanpak Ring Zuid”. So the term could mean “construction site”. I find many different translations, for example “Approach Ring South” (German: Annäherung Ring Süd). I’m still not sure what the correct translation is. If there is no unique english equivalent, could you please paraphrase the term? Thanks!

In this case I would say it is something like “Project to tackle Ring Zuid” (e.g. for maintenance, renovation, restructuring, installing speed cameras, planting CO2-eating trees, or just cleaning all reflectors).

The word “Aanpak” conveys that it’s an organized and structured effort.
I don’t think there’s an English equivalent unfortunately… In German “Ansatz” or “Herangehensweise” come close maybe?
