I’m using organic maps for recording my tracks. The app is excellent in itself. When l’m clicking the record track button, the blue arrow head is showing up fine. It’s also showing the trail as l’m moving. But once l end the recording, the track is not getting recorded into my device.
What could possibly be the issue ?
Maybe try Comaps
Telling people to switch to a different app just to fix a minor issue isn’t a good idea
and don’t bring the Organic Maps controversy here because the person probably doesn’t care about it in the slightest (only a few terminally online turbonerds do)
On iOS the track is recorded into "My Places“, which is a bit hard to find in my opinion. But it works flawlessly.
Maybe you can report your issue at Issues · organicmaps/organicmaps · GitHub, and it’s related to file saving permissions, which can be difficult on Android I heard.
Thanks for the info. I guess that’s pretty similar to Android. I’ve successfully recorded and saved tracks today. Had to make some adjustments on my android device.
Just to inform you, previously l had been using comaps. But after using organic maps, l uninstalled comaps from my device. This is giving me a better user experience.
I’m not aware of any controversy regarding organic maps if any. But yes, when l had started using OSM, l had been using comaps and then l switched over to organic maps. This is similar to comaps but l’m finding it more suitable for my use.
I thought because the two apps are closely related it could have been a quick fix if it worked for you. The other cause of gpx problems can be related to battery conservation but this did not appear relevant for you. Many settings to contend with with problems like this but glad to see you have it sorted now.
